Introduction to ISO/IEC 17025:2017
Overview of the standard, its structure, the relationship with accreditation bodies, and the key differences between ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO 9001. Understanding impartiality, confidentiality, and laboratory competence.
Management System Requirements
Review of structural requirements, resource management, documentation and record control, management reviews, and the options for implementing the management system (Option A and Option B).
Technical Requirements
Auditing technical competence including personnel, facilities, equipment, metrological traceability, method validation and verification, sampling, and ensuring the validity of results.
Audit Planning & Execution
Developing an internal audit programme, preparing audit checklists tailored to laboratory activities, conducting the audit, gathering technical and management system evidence, and applying effective interview techniques.
Reporting & Follow-Up
Documenting audit findings, writing nonconformity reports specific to laboratory operations, conducting closing meetings, managing corrective actions, and supporting accreditation readiness.
